One hundred views of Musashi knives

From luxury pieces for the affluent to mass-market alternatives, the world of Japanese kitchen knives is a crowded and confusing marketplace. In this environment, MUSASHI JAPAN’s identity as an authentic Japanese knife brand—along with their exceptional quality rooted in traditional Japanese craftsmanship—was not being clearly communicated.

With this in mind, we defined MUSASHI JAPAN’s knives not simply as high-performance kitchen knives, but as one-of-a-kind “Cooking KATANA” that embodies the spirit of the samurai and the craftsmanship rooted in Japanese tradition.

Drawing inspiration from ukiyo-e, which once helped introduce Japanese culture to the world, we produced a film that expresses both the tradition and innovation of Japanese kitchen knives, conveying MUSASHI JAPAN’s ambition to share this cultural heritage globally. In-store, a gift-with-purchase campaign offered customers an emakimono scroll featuring the ukiyo-e visuals from the film, with the intent to drive sales while also encouraging the creation of user-generated content.
